Not all fiction calls for note-taking, but sometimes a novel resonates so deeply that it’s worth capturing my thoughts.
I recently shared a new video on my approach to taking notes on fiction, where I walk through setting up a dedicated notebook and recording my insights.
If you've been wanting to get more from your favorite books, this video should help.

Until next time, read slowly - take notes - apply the ideas.

Book Recommendation
Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison
If you haven’t read Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison yet, let me give it a strong recommendation. This is one of those rare novels that doesn’t just tell a story but reaches out and challenges the way you think. Those are the kinds of books I love!
It follows the journey of an unnamed protagonist as he wrestles with identity, invisibility, and the struggle to be seen. I've reviewed some of Ellison's incredible short stories in my newsletter, but this book is his best work.
It’s intense, thought-provoking, and has a way of sticking with you. If you’re in the mood for fiction that doesn’t shy away from big ideas, Invisible Man is well worth your time.
I’ve always found that reading helps me slow down enough to actually think. In this episode, I’ll share why I believe that reading tough books makes us better thinkers, not by giving us all the answers, but by making us work for them. I’ll also walk through how I use writing to process and refine the ideas I pick up from books.
Many of you have placed your first order with Edgewater. I want to thank you for your support and wish you the best in your reading! Let me know if there is anything I can do to make the experience better.
