I Think You'll Love This Book
Hello Reader,
It’s been a big week for me. I needed a story to help me escape the madness of life and the stress of this goofy economy. I’m late to the game here, but I finally read LESS by Andrew Sean Greer, and I loved it for three reasons.
This is the story of Arthur Less, a gay author on the brink of turning 50, who sets off on a global journey to avoid attending an ex-lover’s wedding. Accepting a string of questionable speaking invitations, he escapes the heartbreak—but each stop forces him to confront what it means to grow older, feel irrelevant, and question the purpose of his life.
The first reason I loved this book is that I turn 45 in July. I found it comforting to follow along with LESS as he tries to make sense of what it means to be over the hill.
The second reason I loved this book is that Less is such a lovable character. He does his best to deal with a crappy situation, and he’s a joy to read.
Finally, I loved this book because the narration is beautifully human. The book won the Pulitzer Prize in 2012, and it shows.
If you’re looking for a book that goes straight to the heart, then I’d suggest going on a trip around the world with Arthur Less. You’re going to love it.
👋 Until next time, read slowly – take notes – apply the ideas.

9 Mind-Blowing Philosophy Books Perfect for Beginners!
Philosophy can feel like a foreign language at first. I used to struggle with it too—until I found the right books. In this episode, I walk through 9 books that helped me go from confused to curious, and eventually confident. If you’ve ever wanted to read philosophy but didn’t know where to begin, these titles will help you build that muscle. This isn’t about sounding smart—it’s about learning to think clearly.
I've been working on a novel for a few months now, and I'm excited to say that I've finished the first draft!
My goal is to get it in shape by the end of the year so that I can begin to query literary agents next February. Thanks to all of you for your support and encouragement.
